Pictura's products are sold through the major department store chains, but also by a number of independent stores and businesses. This means that the business consists of a large number of orders received from near and far, and the associated logistics involved in delivering the right products to the right place at the right time. There is a great need for smooth and efficient order reception, with connection directly into their existing IT systems (that are also delivered by EVRY).
The collaboration between Pictura and EVRY is long-standing, so it was during common development discussion that the idea was born of creating an order management system that was more flexible and significantly faster than the company's existing system. EVRY delivered a solution with mobile PDAs in which the more than 100 salespeople in the field could quickly enter their orders - and where orders were automatically synchronised in the 3G network into the existing Jeeves business system.
In addition to the obvious time savings, other benefits arose from the new system. As the order series now can be split up into efficient special orders, greater added sales can be achieved. And as a further bonus, the workload on the home office's order registration has been more evenly spread.
With sales in huge numbers of stores around the world, Pictura needs an efficient, fast and reliable order system. EVRY delivered a system with mobile PDAs directly synchronised through the 3G network to the business system.
